NASS launches the Change Maker Awards

Today, 24 April 2023, NASS launches its new Change Maker Awards, which recognises the great work that healthcare professionals in the NHS or Private Practice are doing to  reduce the time to diagnosis for axial SpA.

The awards are part of the Act on Axial SpA programme, which aims to drive down the 8.5 year delay to diagnosis of axial spondyloarthritis by introducing the world’s first Gold Standard diagnosis time of just one year.

There are four levels in awards:

  • Bronze: Engagement
  • Silver: Active Participation
  • Gold: Leadership
  • Platinum: Sustainable Achievement

The criteria is based on the Act on Axial SpA: Gold Standard time to Diagnosis work.  Each award sets out a list of criteria to demonstrate achievement. You don’t have to achieve every one of the criteria within each category, but there are three compulsory elements, and then you can choose three others from the list.

Applications are now open for Bronze, Silver and Gold awards.  You can apply for any level but if applying for Silver or Gold you need to demonstrate that you have met the requirements for the preceding levels as well.

This round of applications will close on August 31st 2023 and awards will be presented at a dedicated Parliamentary event in November 2023.
